David C. Price
CEO
David has nearly twenty years of experience in leading teams and organizations in delivering large scale business solutions to over thirty energy companies in the Americas and Europe. In this time, he has worked as a leader both inside the industry and as a solutions provider. He has been at the forefront of developing new technology and business solutions in utility operations, customer service and energy market operations. This has ranged from developing business units from the ground up, to the successful acquisition and integration of other companies.
Several of his previous solutions remain industry standard applications in their respective market sectors to this day.
One of his key roles is the leadership of our Innovation team, which works with our clients in helping them determine opportunities for improvement or quantum steps forward in the way they do business.
A graduate of the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, David combines deep industry knowledge with vision and leadership experience.
Venk Gopal
CTO
As Senior Vice President and CTO, Venk represents the Teledata group of companies in coordinating the launch of several new business units through solution convergence and acquisitions. Venk is also directly responsible for our Sentinel technology. Venk was one of the key members in the consolidation and launch of Teledata Technology Solutions.
Venk has over 20 years of experience in building and launching complex systems integration solutions with a primary focus in Energy and Utilities. In the recent past, Venk was responsible for Systems Integration and Enterprise solutions at Logica North America's Energy and Utilities division. Venk has a long and successful history in systems and software lines of business at Hewlett Packard, MIT, Ford Motor Company, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Datacorp, building products and solutions for Automotive, Chemicals, Defense and Banking sectors. Venk holds engineering degree in Electronics & Telecommunications.
Deirdre Oakes
Director, Product Design
Deirdre is a senior IT professional with extensive experience in Energy and Utilities through work with both a utility focused software solutions company and a leading international IT company. She possesses a breath of experience including business consulting, systems integration and developing business process outsourcing solutions for major US utilities. She has successfully worked in all phases of the software development life cycle from requirements specification through to production and has experience in multiple roles including Products Director, Solution Design Manager and Project Manager.
She is current the leader of Pinnacle’s Product Design efforts with responsibility for the strategy, design, testing and release of our software products.
Ranjan Bhattacharya
Vice President, Product Development
Ranjan Bhattacharya is a Senior Information Technology Leader and Architect with over 20 years’ experience in delivering leading-edge technology solutions for large and small companies. He has extensive expertise in building and leading high-functioning software engineering teams to deliver complex applications within schedule and budget, across multiple technology platforms. Ranjan is experienced in strategic technology planning, modern software techniques and technology platforms, and software development with globally distributed teams.
Ranjan has extensive experience in the processes and governance of large-scale Information Technology Systems across several domains like engineering, financial processing, and utilities. He has worked as a Senior Engineer at Raytheon’s air traffic control division, and as a Director, Enterprise Architecture in several business units at Fidelity Investments. He has also led development teams in Boston area engineering and startup companies.
Ranjan holds a BS in Electrical Engineering, and an MS in Computer Science, both from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
Rakhee B. Das
Vice President, Marketing and Strategy
Rakhee currently leads our marketing and strategy. Prior to this role, she was responsible for building our education focus and leading our M&A efforts.
Rakhee started her career in chip design, and later moved to doing valuations and determining market potential of startups in the health care and IT industries. Her strengths lie in her ability to quickly understand new markets and develop business strategies. Rakhee has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester and a MBA from Rice University.
Dean Ratliff
Executive Vice President, Energy & Utilities, Customer Care Solutions
Mr. Ratliff is the Executive Vice President of Pinnacle Solutions and brings with him nearly 20 years of experience in the utility industry and 10 years of running customer care operations. Dean has an extensive knowledge of the people, processes, and technologies that make up today's complex customer care operations, as well as a deep understanding of the regulatory environment.
Dean is a results-oriented professional with a focused expertise in project management, customer care operations, customer care consolidation and integration, and development and implementation of CRM applications within the utility and call center industries. Dean has led numerous business improvement initiatives designed to ensure that the "best fit" solutions are integrated into utility businesses with the highest ROIs and shortest cycle times in the industry. His other credentials include a Masters Degree in Regulatory Economics, 15 years executive leadership experience, and over 10 years experience working for the 2nd largest electric utility in the United States.
John Gleeson
Director, Firmware Solutions
John leads the embedded systems and industrial automation elements of Pinnacle’s business strategy. John specializes in the application of wireless protocols such as ZigBee, IEEE 802.15.4, Wireless HART / IEC 62591, etc. for use in SmartGrid, SmartEnergy and other next generation technologies. He has over 25 years of industry experience in leading cross functional teams and delivering complex real-time systems.
Prior to Pinnacle, John co-founded Software Technologies Group and led and participated in several real-time control systems -– Manhole Monitor and Tamper Sensor System, WirelessHart Stack, Wireless Streetlight Controls, Fire Extinguisher Monitor and Tamper System, Wireless Fleet Management, Wireless Motor Vibration Monitor, etc.
Some of the highlights of his experience include developing wireless sign control system; developing handheld and USB-connected games; systems to model the sun path and identify which pieces of glass of the building will reflect the sun into airport control towers; developing a suite of applications for asset management and automatic system memory upgrades; and developing paperless systems to manage foreclosures.
John has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Richard Horton
Chief Data Architect
Richard is an experienced IT professional with 24 years experience in IT, covering all phases of the software development life cycle in multiple sectors including Energy & Utility, Transport, Defense, Insurance and Financial Services. He specializes in data architecture and has gained significant experience in the logical and physical design of databases as well as the design and implementation of database code. In particular Richard enjoys designing and implementing large Oracle database solutions, many of which have been in the Energy industry including a Meter Data Repository, a Load Estimation system and Customer Choice solutions.
Richard has also worked in a data architecture team within the insurance industry, where he architected a company’s new dimensional Enterprise Data Warehouse program. He is our Chief Data Architect, responsible for the overall design and performance of the critical database engines that drive our solutions.
Richard has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the UK.
